Since the end of 2021, we have been working on the 3D model of the Khalifa port extension in the United Arab Emirates. This seawall built in 2 phases by a large Emirati state-owned marine works company consists of a total of more than 67,000 ACCROPODE™ I blocks.
For this project, we receive bathymetric and photogrammetric data from the company as the work progresses, on a weekly basis. We then make the 3D model of the received sections including about 1000 blocks in less than 24 hours. These data are sent to the consultant in charge of the certification of the installation to carry out the acceptance of the work in progress. In the event of an installation defect, the company is notified as soon as possible in order to carry out the necessary repair work while they are still working on this section of the structure.
On this project, we also mobilized one of our hydrographic experts to carry out a technical audit of the installation company’s bathymetric installation and to advise them on improving the quality of their surveys.
