In April 2023, we carried out the multibeam bathymetric survey of this iconic breakwater with an ideal weather window!

This project was the opportunity for our business manager Steven LE BARS based in France to gather with the survey team Vincent MACAIGNE and Aurélien based in the Indian Ocean.

We had already surveyed and digitized the breakwater in 2021 after the construction handover from the contractor. After we combined this new underwater dataset with the drone photogrammetry pointcloud aquired by Géodunes, we updated the 3D model made of 16 000 Xbloc® with SEABIM.

This new model has enabled to quantify block settling and identify singularities before the end of the contractor liability period. Thanks to this efficient asset management strategy, the owner could confirm that the armour layer withstands its first winter storm events.
